PRIVACY
Privacy Policy
This site keeps data collection to a minimum, uses only privacy-respecting analytics, and never sells your data.
Last updated: June 2026
This website shares information about the forthcoming book How Language Works. It is built to respect your privacy: aside from the analytics described below, the only information you share with us is what you choose to send by email, and we never sell your data.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how people find and use the site — for example, which pages are viewed and roughly where visitors come from. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes usage data (including a pseudonymous identifier and approximate, IP-derived location) on our behalf. We use it only to improve the site, never to identify you personally. Analytics runs only if you accept it in the cookie banner shown on your first visit — nothing analytics-related loads until you do, and declining keeps it off. You can change your choice at any time: . You can also opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or your browser’s cookie controls; for details, see Google’s Privacy Policy.
If you email us
The only way to share information with us through this site is by choosing to email [email protected]. When you do, we receive the name, email address, and message you provide. We use that information solely to reply to you and, if you ask, to send occasional launch updates. We do not sell or share it with third parties.
Hosting and server logs
The site is served by a hosting and content-delivery provider that may process standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security and reliable delivery. The publisher does not use these logs to track or profile visitors.
